Opening Week

Swindon Shock 2 had their first game on 15/09/2013 against Calne at home. It was a highly anticipated match up from last years Div 3 champions.  Generally Calne averaged around a 100 points against the opposing teams, but things weren’t that easy this time. With strong defense Shock kept Calne under 50 points for the whole game. Both teams were going head to head until the fourth quarter, when Shock took off and kept a 10 point lead until the end of game. We lost a couple players from last year, but also gained 4 new players who fitted right into our unselfish basketball and helped us to win the game. The most damage was done by Rich Boraston and Zoltan Kiraly who both scored over 20 points in the game. This victory gives us great confidence and a drive to keep playing hard and aim for a position in the top of the division. Our next game is on 23/06/2013 against Redcliffe on their home court. We are up to the challenge and hoping to take the W on the road as well.

Swindon Shock 1 Played their first game against Bristol Storm and won 77-60.  Young people flocked to youth 1st to watch the home team jump out early and never relinquish the lead.   The two teams will meet up again in the National League opener.  Saturday September 21st at 4pm Swindon Academy.

Shock Women were the only home team to travel on opening day & fell to Mavericks 46 to 35.
