Whilst Swindon Shock National team held on to its National league playoffs spot Saturday. The West of England Basketball Association (WEBBA) Division 1 mens team took 1st place late Monday evening. After losing their first game in two years to rival Lockleaze Renegades. Swindon Shock went on the road to defeat Lockleaze 71-62 at St Bedes School and now stand atop of Division one with 5 games remaining. “Tonight we took advantage of the size matchup, and our big guys Pawel and Matt Ford really played a strong physical game” said, coach Colclough.
Up by 20 points Lockleaze made an impressive charge to cut Shocks lead to 6 points before Matt North and Lee Hobbis hit back to back shots to put Shock up 61-51. A late steal by Antonio Wilburn sealed the game and Shock were able to hold on for the 71-62. Swindon Shock National play this Saturday at 3pm against Bristol Storm Whilst their WEBBA side rest up for the holidays.
