September update

With Bradon Forest using the sportshall for covid testing we will be off for a few weeks. We will look to resume mid September. The next update will be September 9th which we are hoping will bring us great news to the future of basketball in Swindon. Whilst we wait can you please send us a postcode to a park near you as we will be doing free sessions throughout September at local parks in Swindon. Please email swindonshock@gmail.com.

Just around the corner

Quick update, we will be taking a short pause in September as schools come back for covid testing in the halls. When we resume we will be moving to direct debit and ordering kit for the 3 different teams based on ability level and age. In the mean time, please let the coaches know a park near your area so we can plan the Shock in the park free sesions during the down time. In addition can you please give your child a lateral flow test before sessions in order to keep players and coaches safe. If you are having trouble finding lateral flow test please give me a call. Session Restructure

From the Swindon Shock family to you, we want to say thank you to all those who have participated in the early sessions. Our numbers are overflowing and this has been a welcoming site for the club. In order to make sure we are not turning young people away, we have decided to revamp our sessions starting Monday the 28th of June. Mondays 7-8pm will be session 1 for the 9-13 year olds. Followed by 8pm to 9pm as our community session for anyone looking to play and stay active in sports.

Thursdays 6pm to 7pm will see session 2 for our 9-13 year olds followed by our 14 and up session from 7pm to 8pm.

Only registered National and local league members will participate in the 8pm to 10pm session. This is important as our club will be participating in the Bristol Summer League and possibly our annual tournament in Germany.

Aditionally we will be introducing Shock in the park, as we look to travel all over Swindon this summer delivering 1hr free sessions to anyone 18 and under at local parks. We are hoping to upload our schedule by the end of the month.

We will run trials in August as well as invite you to the community session to get scouted for club participation this season. As we work back into basketball shape we will also keep you informed about our return to Oakfield Campus. If you are a young person who has to travel from a disadvantaged area and need support participating, please contact head coach David Colclough swindonshock@gmail.com as we have funding to support you.
