Shock Fall in Finals to Northants

Swindon Shock season came to an end this Sunday as Shock could not make up the half-time 5 point  gap to Northants in the NBL Finals.  Despite an outstanding shooting performance from Spencer Wells and Dominik Sajovic Shock trailed the majority of the game.   Closing the gap to 2 points late, Shock would go on to miss 11 free throws in their finals performance, ultimately costing them a chance at a finals victory.

Despite the loss, Shock players held their head’s up high and will now apply for Div3 promotion with hopes of meeting their new arch rival in future matches.  For more information please see the Basketball England  Finals

NBL D4 Playoff update

Swindon Shock survived a nail-biting finish as they booked their place in the National League Division Four semi-finals beating Wolverhampton 76-75.

Their rivals Wolverhampton pitched up to Swindon late and they paid the price in the first quarter as the home side came flying out of the blocks.

Antonio Wilburn and Spencer Wells, in particular, were on form as Swindon raced into a 27-18 lead after the first session.

Swindon Shock Junior Basketball

Are you interested in playing basketball on a regular basis? Swindon Shock are starting new sessions soon for current year 7s and 8s. Our sessions are based at Dorcan Complex Sports Hall, Swindon, SN3 5DA on Monday evenings. It helps if you’ve had some previous experience, but if you want to improve, having a commitment to regular practice and working hard are more important. If we have sufficient players who show this commitment, we intend to run a team to play in regular tournaments across the region next season. If you would like to indicate your interest in possibly participating, ask your parents to contact us on shockjuniors@gmail.com with your name and date of birth, and we will forward them more details. If you are currently in year 9 or 10, you can still contact us, and we will let you know about sessions starting soon with our partner club, Gloster Jets who organise sessions in Cirencester for their teams on Friday evenings.
